Inception was great, if you haven’t seen it, shame on you.  Anyway, as with all the videos from HISHE you probably need to have seen the film to get all the jokes, so if you haven’t seen Inception switch off your computer, go to the cinema, watch the film and then come back and watch this…Or just watch it anyway I don’t know, you’re here now, may as well.

Go and see Inception. It’s really good.

This is a funny cartoon what I saw on Cartoon Brew, mixing computer animation with…well not really mixing it with anything, it looks like it was all done on computer but it is funny and looks really slick. Check it out

axe cop/mcninja yay!

Finally, two of my favourite web-comic heros are uniting in what will become a completely joyful bat-shit insane story. If you aren’t familiar with them, Dr mcninja is a comic created by grown man Chris Hastings about a ninja… who’s also a doctor… who fights zombie ninjas and pirates with the help of his gorilla secretary and a boy with a moustache and a dinosaur. Pretty standard stuff really. Axe Cop is a cop. With an axe. It is written by a 6 year old and illustrated by his older brother. Really.

Here’s an example of the Axe-cop writing process;

This story is going to be mental my friends. It has been posted everyday on Axecop.com this week and the final parts will be on Drmcninja.com  everyday next week. Strap in.

It’s wonderful, horrible, stunning, nuts, hilarious, crude, and the comedy timing is flawless. If this was a woman I’d marry it. As it is, it’s just a cartoon so I can only watch it. ‘Uncle Grandpa’ by Peter Browngardt. I look forward to seeing more of this kind of shenaniganary…

Thanks to cartoon brew. We love you.

This is the most moving piece of animation ever made. Never before have I cared so much about a child’s footware situation. My God I hope he gets shoes. Rest assured when this comes out I will track down a copy and let you know what happens…

Let’s be clear: I hate dancing. It’s stoopid, It makes me tired and most importantly I can’t do it. But there is one type of dance I like, and by using the words ’10 Cartoon Dances’ in the post title I really don’t need to waste any more of our time for the slow reveal of what type of dancing that is. It’s cartoon dancing.

Here are some of the cartoon people dancing that make me Mr gigglyface…

So there is this thing called StoryCorps

Since 2003, over 50,000 people have shared life stories with family and friends through StoryCorps. Each conversation is recorded on a free CD to share, and is preserved at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. StoryCorps is one of the largest oral history projects of its kind…

Brilliant. I think this is such an important way of making sure history reads us all the way we are.

And now, They’ve animated 5 short films based on some of those conversations. How can I not post this? HOW? TELL ME FUTURE PEOPLE!!???!!!

WARNING:  This will be the sweetest animation you will have seen for a while…

Call me Ishmael

I’d rather you wouldn’t, but ‘Call me Ishmael’ is the name of the awesome Glasgow based band called ‘Call me Ishmael’. Check out the cool and impressive music video with animated monsters running amuck in town.

(extra cool points for the Wilhelm scream in there). Thanks To Mr Putt for the heads up.

Here’s what I will be watching this week rather than washing my stinky weedy body and teaching the homeless how to tile my bathroom…

Channel 4 Alternative Election Night

The election looms. Very few things in life ‘loom’. I believe an election is one of them. Tall people also loom…but we can kill them with smaller doorways. So many things are different in this election (…?…) and one of the most important to me (beyond changing things) is that we can maybe watch the results with a bit of a sense of humour.

 Luther

Another cop drama? Maybe. But this one stars (gasp!!) A Black Man! And interestingly, this guy is going to play a Norse God in the upcoming Marvel Thor film, directed by Kenneth “sweats Shakespeare” Branagh. Ignoring all that Hollywod bullcrap (Hollyshit), it looks pretty darned good in it’s own right…

The Ricky Gervais Show

To be honest, I can’t quite figure out if this is genius or glorified bullying. Pilkington is just too funny not to mention. Plus I will assume Gervais loves him dearly as we all would, thus making the whole thing morally acceptable. Question mark smiley face.

The Prisoner

I’m a bit pissed off that i missed the first episode of this, but no doubt I shall settle down and get over it…

…otherwise the big bouncy balls will come after me.

Yeah. Thought we might be topical here on the moon for a rare moment. Check out this great short cartoon summing up the first debate between the three major parties. Don’t worry, it’s funny. And no, it’s not the BNP/marmite debacle, which i must say was deliciously satisfying.

I loved the first Free Willy movie as a kid. Boy meets whale, boy frees whale, boy discovers self = lovely! Yet the movie’s nice eco message was not fully appreciated by its producers, who thought it was ok to make a film about a poorly treated captive whale by filming a poorly treated captive whale and then had to fork out millions in PR money to try free the poor thing, which by now was too ill to cope in the wild.

And the ill-thought-out-ness didn’t stop there…

Free Willy: The Animated Series - where Jesse rides Willy to the ocean bed to fight robot men! Just like in the film! Oh and Willy can talk! Just like in the film!
