The above face must surely be the face of a real life witch. So anyway, here on the moon we are very bi-partisan in our political leanings (*cough cough*)… but in a very un-political way, Naomi Wolf rocks my bannana boat hammock boat. 4-ish minutes into the clip below and the lady Wolf rips into whats-her-face above, (witch-lady). Wolf (or ‘Naomi’ as I like to call her…or ‘Ny’…or ’snookums’**) has to talk to witch-lady like a school teacher explaining morals to a 5 year old with a temper tantrum. Gold. No one mention McCarthy, or witch-lady will turn you into a terrorist.

**EDIT; I don’t call her snookums. Ever.

I’m afraid that I take it pretty bad when a person I greatly admire succumbs to the “life disease” (for example; see my 3 days in bed when I learned that Richard Pryor died, although that may also have been due to my lazyness) so forgive the previous short, sharp post to do with The Newman. It was hard to figure out what to say.

Ever wondered why there are no Scottish astronauts being all floaty in space? Well wonder no more, the lads at Chewing the Fat have solved the riddle;

Yes, that’s right, us Scottish people will have no need for universal translators or Earl Grey reguardless how hot it is, and the prime directive would probably involve a deep fried sausage and a punch-up.

Here’s a translation of a bit of it;

Scottish:

Captn, theres a right big whoor ae a space ship comin towards us, you wanna see the bastard’n size a the thing. It’s a good yin or twa sizes bigger than oors, ken?  

English:

Captain, theres a really big whore of a spaceship coming towards us, you want to see the bastards size. It’s one or two sizes bigger than ours, you know?

I’ve been a fan of the anarchic country music of ‘The Avett Brothers’ for some time now…it’s like listening to some punks who live on a farm finding a banjo and start to shout at it while they rhythmically jump up and down on it, only to regret what they’ve done and start to sob melodically moments later. The resultant noise is, In my humble opinion, brilliant. The following video sums up the awesome nuts-ness of this band because it is recorded live in their tour bus for a laugh. I love ‘em;

If you have a spare 18 minutes I encourage you to watch this magnificently made short by Thomas Newton Sigel and his wife Lisa Chang. Direction, acting, music and feel to the movie are all spot on but I believe the cinematography and style are the best parts about it. I shall let you be the judge.

Starring Selma Blair as Alice, a young woman with an ache that no doctor seems able to cure, The Big Empty tells a story of exploitation and eventual self-reliance. Beautifully shot by the renowned cinematographer Newton Thomas Sigel and directed and adapted by Sigel and his wife, Lisa Chang, the film was featured on Volume 1 of Wholphin DVD Magazine and won the USA Film Festival in 2005.

Oh and if you think you recognise the leading lady she’s been in Hell boy. Booya!

Newgrounds has yet again tickled my funny, this time however for deeply personal reasons: Mario. We have been playing Super Mario brothers 3 again, the first time since we were tiny. Oh the memories. I forgot how fantastically bad I was at it. The flash animation over at Newgrounds sums up the frustration that I feel chasing a mushroom; either it falls off a ledge or I do. Hell, I don’t even like mushrooms gorram it. There’s even that moment where you know that you shouldn’t chase it, but you do anyway…the game plays on my greed and I can’t stop the want!! The video below you may all know for I have been slow. Mario has an addiction…

The only thing is that it looks a little small to hold all animals ever. Still fecking awesome though.

Everyone knows this already, but hey…here it is again: they broke the big doo-hickey at CERN that would end the world. Obviously rather than end the world (if I was a skeptic I’d say they had a PR department to help raise the profile by telling people that they could either change the world, or destroy it. I’d also get Gillian Anderson and Marina Sirtis to be two opposing particles in an advert…but I digress ) it was potentially one of the most interesting and advanced  experiments that we are allowed to know (apparently North korea have already dabbled in giant rabbits, for example. This I did not know.) Previously in their honour we at MontheMoon posted a representation of the ‘crack scientists’ at CERN as the crew of the Enterprise circa ‘The Next Generation’. I feel that sadly, we have to demote them to this…

Yeah, It’s the gurning faces of the crew of ‘Enterprise’ in all their misjudged rubbishness. As a further boot into the CERN guys and gals collective genitals, who could probably make me shoot blanks just by re-configuring my remote control, here’s the theme tune to ’Enterprise’…one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever had the displeasure to vomit to…and I’ve vomited to vomit.

Ahh. I remember the days of my yoof watching Spaceballs on a sunday afternoon and thinking it was comedy genius. Cut to today and my superior mind is less than impressed, although it still holds a special place in my memories (to be honest most places in my brain are ’special’).

So what the hell is this about? Spaceballs the animated series??? Looking at the site it seems to be very…how should I say…. breast-centric and even a little seedy. To be honest it looks a little crap. I don’t even know of the channel ‘G4′, what is that? What with George Lucas fiddling around with the Star wars franchise, Star Trek being re-vamped (and the god awful ‘Enterprise’ series) I’m afraid my childhood memories are getting a very extensive rape-ing.

You’ve probably already seen this (I discovered it thanks to myextralife.com) but it is a little bit of golden goodness that amuses;
