Below these words that are naught but gas is the short film ‘9′ by Shane Acker that was made some time ago. Apart from the fact that it is brilliant, we bring it up here because in the year of m’lud 2009 Tim Burton and another famous person will help bring Acker’s vision to the big screen. A reason to live after all? One hopes so…

A trailer for the new film can be seen here with eyeballs

Test Card F

We here on the Moon have been following with anticipation (and not a small amount of worry) the development of Joss Whedon’s latest show ‘Dollhouse’. The first footage of a complete scene has been posted online here. Joss is a TV genius… we’re just hoping the TV executives are allowing this to fly.

(star trek noises)

Majel Barret Roddenberry, wife to Trek creator Gene Roddenberry died last week Leukemia related. She was a great supporter of the Trek through the years, playing the second in command ‘number one’ in the first pilot for the original Trek, Nurse Chapel in the original series, Deanna Troi’s mother in TNG and DS9, the voice of the computer in all the series and including the up and coming film.

nooooooooooooooo

Topless robot recently reported that George Lucas has approved a Star Wars musical. Yes. There’s not much to say on the issue that doesn’t involve shaking in a rage, punching walls or weeping like a child. Here is what Topless Robot has to say, before the natural torrent of obscenity;

You know when parents are too stupid and insane to take care of their child, the state steps in and takes the child away for its own good? There has to be some kind of law that would similarly allow someone to take the Star Wars franchise away from George Lucas for neglect, abuse and now…a musical

The details of the ‘project’ are found within this clicky from yahoo. Not for Star Wars geeks of faint heart.

Without further ado; Robot Chicken’s piss-take musical; Empire on Ice;

Cartoon Brew  showcased this delightfully loopy animation by Kirsten Lepore and Garrett Davis in which a father (in his underpants) explains to his son why he shouldn’t kill a spider, to music of course. I’m sure there are no political undertones…

When Doctor Who was taken off the air in 1985 there were fears that the BBC were hoping to quietly cancel the show. Inspired by similar celebrity sing-fests someone thought it was a good idea to try and ‘pull a Live Aid’ by releasing a single campaigning for the shows return. Doctor Who super fan and record producer Ian Lavine organised for then current Doctor Colin Baker, some ex-Who regulars and a number of mid level celebs (including members of Bucks Fizz, The Moody Blues and Ultravox… ooh) to sing a song retelling the Doctor’s story so far and demanding the Beeb bring the show back.

I had nothing to do with the making of this single - being 3 years old when it was released. That said, the air of embarrassment surrounding it seeps out and makes me cringe as if it was all my fault. It wasn’t… yet I still feel guilty.

Without further ado… Doctor in Distress!

computoooorrrrrsssss

This is old news (like…from the sixties) but it never gets old (yes it does..it’s from the sixties) but here is a computer program that talks like a 1960’s Rogerian psychotherapist. Just type in your problems and let ELIZA take you to a happy place;

Here she is

He really is the most important Jew in America (If you don’t watch family guy…the joke is there). Watch him destroy this shitty show and the ridiculous pretentious cretins therein. I don’t know how to spell the last four words in that previous sentence…that’s how awesome this video is:

(yeah…I went back and spell checked)

you can be this succesful

I kid you not;

The not-Australian duo Flight of the Conchords are almost back for season 2, and to kick things off they’re throwing a lip dub video contest! All you gotta do is lip-synch the “Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenoceros” rap send it in and you could end up in a mastermix video that will air on HBO. Who’s the muthaflippin?!

This is no joke, thanks to this site, buzzfeed.

here is the hipshopautomamous vs rhymanosauraus rex video that you need to dub to to be on the show;

buy the DVDs at all local retail outlets… or here

It’s been 60 years since most of humanity decided that everyone deserves a fair whack at the rat, which is shocking on it’s own…except for the fact that agreeing to something and living by it are two different things. To celebrate the 60th aniversary of the United nations declaration of human rights, here is an important video reminding us of how this can’t just be a one off payment to a charity..this is a constant questioning of everything done by us and in our name…

thanks to Boingboing for the heads up

Topless robot  posted this, and as a good human being I have an obligation to spread the word. Some genius has uploaded the bits of the new Watchmen film which look absolutely stunning that were shown at the SDCC. It really looks like it could live up to whatever hope I have…If it can escape the whole legal thing;

With the original graphic novel being so awesome, and the visuals looking so beautiful, what could possibly go wrong?

banging

Talking of terminator… look at this beast of a machine! It’s not really called a ‘fluffy floaty machine’ but I thought I’d lighten the tone a little… It’s real name is a Multiple Kill vehicle designed to ‘kill’ multiple warheads;

First, the MKV-L will fly to encounter the cloud of multiple warheads and decoys being deployed by the enemy missile. Then, instead of exploding, the MKV will maneuver through the threats launching several kill vehicles, each targeted at the different objects on the air, both real dangers and dummies set to deceive missile defenses.

I’m not sure what most of that means (in my head it means that it’s a power ranger) , but the video footage has this thing hovering around shooting off lots of loud bangs until i could feel a small amount of urine in my sock (It was mine).

It certainly is awesome and frightning in equal measure. check out the article at Gizmodo.com, where they have the video footage of some tests of this thing. You will not be dissapointed. You may be scared. She bangs.

The most amazing thing to me is how stable it is in flight. I can’t see it wobble or nothing. I tells ya I can smells tha future!

heres the article with video

McG the ‘visonary’ behind the Charlie’s Angels movies and the now aborted McSpaced has released the first trailer from his Terminator Salvation film that opens next year. And at first look it seems… surprisingly good. Of course he could spoil things by setting everything to bullet time but after the lousiness that was T3 (apart from that brilliant ending) I’m prepared to give this a chance. Win me over McG, win me over…
