Here is genuine footage from the international space station and I have to say… space looks slightly cheap on camera…

Rather there than here though, reguardless of the pixel count.

Charlie Brooker strikes again, with a powerful clip of a sane person try to describe how every time the media treats murderers like they are celebrities, it increases the risk of more bad shit. Also, Charlie Brooker is funny. This video from his new show, Newswipe on BBC four on the Telly-box. I recommend the ass off it.

st;tngAt the risk of sounding like I just spend my days jumping up and down and clapping at the various geeky things on offer over the coming months, I am really excited to see the Star Trek TNG cast together for the family guy episode which is on its way.

You can see a short clippy thing of it here,  and it looks like it’s gonna have me wetting myself. More than nomal. And maybe a little poop.

EDIT; this story is broken,

It is my duty and my joy to bring to your attention the illustrated wonder that is goodshowsir.co.uk. Celebrating all that is bad in genre fiction cover illustrations, the site presents some true howlers and then throws down the gauntlet to YOU - can you find worse?

If you dig around on the interweb right now you’ll find all sorts of interesting tit-bits on the new Red Dwarf trillogy coming to digital middlebrow-fest Dave over the Easter weekend. All early signs are looking, after the stodgy series VII and the shoddy series VIII, that this could be something special.

Get thee to www.listerscominghome.co.uk where, with a little bit of clickage, you’ll be rewarded with clips and a 7 minute making off. Also it seems the story for the episodes gives the 4th wall a good hard kicking (see the video below). Lots of these little are-they-in-character-are- they-not videos keep popping up on the web/Dave. Happy hunting.

Thanks to www.ganymede.tv for the heads-up.

Here’s a great wee animation about a little boy, David, and his excitement at getting a new pet snail.

Here’s a clip from the BSG themed U.N discussion, in which Edward James Olmos shows us that he may just be the coolest dude ever…

Witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational sheep-art;

Pretty impresive stuff, and here’s me thinking they just had sex with them. I kid, I kid. Found via Topless Robot

While you guys at the U.N are discussing Battlestar Galactica, you may as well discuss the issues raised in the following video (the issues involve love being ‘all’, frogs turning into plants, and the morality of standing on moles who want to eat worms…)

And yes, Silence of the Lambs fans, that does appear to be a death’s head moth at the start of the video.

Thanks to Ian for pointing out how much joy you can get watching a frog be a hippy.

battle poverty and stuff-ticaBattlestar Galactica is an amazing moral doozy of a show. It has never claimed to know what might be right and what might be wrong… it’s always been a show about repercussions, reguardless of your motives: the bad guys can often turn up good and vice-a-versa.

Because 99% of the 5 people that I know have ignored my powerful praise of Galactica, I feel somewhat vindicated to know that the United Nations itself will be hosting a panel about the issues BSG has raised…

On March 17, there will be a “Battlestar” retrospective at the U.N. in New York and a panel discussion of how the show examined issues such as “human rights, children and armed conflict, terrorism, human rights and reconciliation and dialogue among civilizations and faith,”

That’s not just good Sci-Fi. That’s good story telling, which in turn is just all about people.

Also, the U.N panel will be hosted by Whoopi Goldberg. So the world really is fecking nuts right now.
